All applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the Acasha Nicholas Scholarship Fund

1. The applicant must be a candidate for a course of study that will prepare the applicant for a career that is consistent with the religious tenets of being a Christian.

2. The applicant must be a resident of New York State.

3. The applicant must be a citizen of the United States (subject to verification).

4.  The applicant must be of African-American or Hispanic descent.

5. The applicant must submit documents for verification of income.

6. The applicant must have a minimum high school grade point average  of 85% out of 100%; or a 3.0 or above out of a 4.0 scale; or a B+ average at the time of application submission.

7. The applicant must be a high school senior, a high school graduate initially entering an educational facility, or a current student attending an accredited college or university.

An applicant who is a relative of a member of the Scholarship Program Coordinating Committee or the Scholarship Selection Committee is not eligible to apply for or receive funding from the Acasha Nicholas Scholarship Fund. For these purposes "relative" means any person connected by blood or marriage to any foregoing individuals.
